Remedies for colds

 - by admin

It’s that time of year again – colds and flus are rife at the moment. Some of my friends have been struck with dose after dose.

So what can you do to boost your immune system and what can you do to help yourself recover from a bout.

Well: Prevention

1) Echinacea. Either in tablet or tincture form, this has been proved and tested many times over the years. I know my mum swears by it.

2) Take vit c daily.

3) lots of fresh fruit and vegetables.

4) Antibacterial hand lotion – use after the bathroom, being on a bus or any other public place.

5) Exercise – approximately 20 minutes a day.

Recovery:

1) If you feel the onset of a cold, take an epsom salt bath. Put 2 handfuls of salts in a bath with some lavendar and tea tree oil and bubble bath. Soak for 20 minutes. It’s a fabulous way of detoxing the body and drawing out any impurities.

2) Put lavendar drops on your pillow – it’ll help you to sleep.

3) Drink plenty of water to flush out the toxins and stay away from tea/coffee.

4) Avoid dairy products as these are mucous forming.

I hope these help, if you’ve any other tips please comment on this post.
