What is a vision board (or a dream board.

If any of you have seen the cd or read the book, you’ll know all about vision boards. (if you haven’t yet experienced the secret, I highly recommend you get your hands on a copy. You can order it from amazon if you wish by clicking here : http://www.ellenshilling.com/Book.htm

In the secret, John Assari told his inspirational story of how he had used vision boards to take him to his dream home as well as incredible success in all areas of his life. He literally made his dreams come true.

A vision board is simply a visual representation or collage of the things that you want to have, be or do in your life. It consists of a poster or cork board with cut out pictures, drawings and/or writing on it of the things that you want in your life or the things that you want to become.

The purpose of a vision board is to activate the law of attraction to begin to pull things from your external environment that will enable you to realise your dreams. By selecting pictures and writing that charge your emotions with feelings of passion, you will begin to manifest those things into your life.

What is “The law of attraction”:
This law states that we attract into our lives anything that we give attention to, regardless of whether it is positive or negative. We get more of what we focus on.

Vision boards serve the role of programming our consious and subconscious minds to tune into external stimuli that can help us to move closer towards our intentions.

How to make your vision board:

Ingredients:

A3 paper or cork board
Magazines – an assortment of travel, beauty, hobbies, home, etc
Glue
Scissors

Method: (A great evening to do with your friends or family)

  1. Go through the magazines and cut out any images that appeal to you. Whether that’s words or pictures or colours that’s up to you, anything that attracts you, cut it out. Consider having something in all of the following areas:
                Career,
                Health,
                Wealth,
                Family & Friends,
                Significant other/ romance,
                Personal growth,
                Fun & recreation and
Environment (both where you live and
                                       where you work).
  2. Go through the images and pick out your favourites. Put these on your board and begin to arrange them into the places that you want.
  3. Glue your images to the board leaving space in the centre. You can also decorate it with glitter or shapes or draw some pictures on it if you wish. Go with whatever you’re led to do.
  4. Place a photo of yourself in the centre of the board (one that you like). This makes your vision board personal to you. Use
  5. Hang your board somewhere that you’ll see it regularly.
For example, in your bedroom on on the fridge door.
  6. Every day spend a few minutes in front of your vision board and imagine it all in your life now. What would you do, how would feel, what would you look like? Research has shown that this really works, so use all of your senses to really get into this.
  7. Tick off each item as it manifests in your life. This is important as you’re giving yourself positive feedback and increasing your confidence in the process.

If something that you have on your board doens’t appeal to you after a few months or weeks , then take it off and replace it with what you do want. We’re all allowed to change our minds!

So get cutting and pasting and use your creative talents to really allow yourself to flow with this. It’s a wonderful exercise to do.

Thanks for reading.
